About The Position
Under the supervision of the Director of Global Undergraduate Academic Advising, this position delivers student-focused academic advising to undergraduate students enrolled in pathway programs offered on Northeastern network and partner campuses. Academic Advisors working with undergraduate students attending a Northeastern undergraduate pathway program will be responsible for general program advising across the portfolio of degree programs offered at their assigned campus. Undergraduate Global Academic Advisors will work in close partnership with the advising units from each program's home college on the Boston campus, as well as with the Global Experience Office and appropriate campus support staff. Academic Advisors assist in identifying struggling or at-risk students including making appropriate referrals to other college resources; schedule building, registration assistance, add/drop or withdrawal assistance, and major declaration; maintain detailed student records; participates in recruitment activities, programs, and initiatives including providing advising information to prospective students and orientation advising; participates in departmental and committee meetings as appropriate for supporting assigned students; develops and coordinates relationships with various offices on campus to better serve students; may facilitate section(s) of the Introduction to College course. The Academic Advisor works to foster a welcoming, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all undergraduate pathway program students. This position will be located in Manhattan, NYC.
