About The Position

At PNNL, our core capabilities are divided among major departments that we refer to as Directorates within the Lab, focused on a specific area of scientific research or other function, with its own leadership team and dedicated budget. Our directorates related to Mission Support & Operations include Office of General Counsel, Business Services, Communications and External Engagement, Operational Systems, Communications and Information Technology, and Performance Management. The Business Services Directorate (BSD) provides crucial financial, procurement and sales, and project management services to PNNL, as required under our management and operations contract for operating the Lab on behalf of the Department of Energy. Our goal in offering these services is to ensure efficient, effective, and compliant business operations that enhance PNNL's scientific impact. Requirements

  • Candidates must have a high school diploma /GED or higher
  • Candidates must be degree-seeking undergraduate students enrolled at an accredited college or university
  • Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall cumulative GPA of 2.50

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates currently progressing into their junior year or early senior year.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as internet & basic networking software.
  • Familiarity with standard office equipment such as printers, copy machines, and telephones.
  • One year or more of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing acquisition, and/or proposal and funding agreement contract files against a provided checklist to determine completeness and accuracy.
  • Interfacing with Battelle staff and management as needed to successfully complete work activities.
  • Providing completed checklists to Battelle management including the number of files reviewed and results of the reviews.
  • Interacting with acquisition staff/mentors and management in areas of acquisition process, document generation, systems, requirements, and compliance.
  • Provide excellent customer service through clear, professional verbal and written communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Assists in other acquisition (procurement/subcontract) areas including Contract Closeout, Business to Business purchasing, deployed procurement teams contract formation and administration, and others areas as needed.
  • This internship is planned to be year-round in Richland, Washington.
