The Learning Assistant (LA) position is part-time and non-benefit eligible, offering an opportunity for students to engage in collaborative learning environments and support their peers in understanding scientific and mathematical concepts.

Requirements

• Must be a currently enrolled Benedictine student in good standing.
• Knowledge in the subject you are helping with as an LA.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate collaborative environments by listening, observing, and engaging students in questioning.
• Help students articulate their ideas and justify their reasoning to themselves and other students.
• Provide feedback to the professor on student understanding.
• Attend all classes as required by the supervising professor and facilitate collaboration among students.
• Offer guided help sessions if required by the professor.
• Meet weekly with the supervising professor to review problem sets or other activities.
• Attend a special mathematics and science education seminar to reflect on teaching and learning.
