About The Position

The Frances M. Maguire College of Nursing and Health Professions at Gwynedd Mercy University invites highly experienced, motivated, and mission-driven candidates to apply for one (a) full-time undergraduate nursing faculty position. This 12-month appointment begins in May 2026 and may be tenure-track or non-tenure-track based on qualifications. Faculty will contribute to a dynamic and growing BSN program, with opportunities to teach at the graduate level depending on expertise and program needs. Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with academic preparation and teaching experience. The preferred candidate will demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness and a commitment to undergraduate BSN education. Expertise in nursing education, particularly in maternity nursing didactic, clinical, and simulation instruction, is highly sought. Faculty with strong foundations in nursing education and a passion for student success are especially encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing or a doctoral degree in a related field with a minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing (ABD considered).
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Evidence of effective teaching in clinical and/or classroom settings; higher education experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in Maternity Nursing.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a student-centered environment.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and advancing the mission of Gwynedd Mercy University.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats, with potential opportunities/needs to teach graduate-level courses.
  • Providing in-class and out-of-class academic support to promote student success and progression.
  • Advising undergraduate students and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Engaging in scholarly activities consistent with rank (e.g., presentations, publications, research).
  • Participating in college and university committees, curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation efforts.
  • Supporting admissions, recruitment, and community engagement events.
  • Demonstrating commitment to evidence-based practice, experiential learning, and inclusive pedagogies.
