The Undergrad Intern - Research Program at Amgen offers a unique opportunity for students to engage in hands-on learning within a laboratory setting. This 12-week internship focuses on developing antibody-based therapeutics, requiring extensive exploration and optimization of molecular biology techniques. Interns will work closely with experienced scientists and participate in professional development activities, including lab tours and networking events, all while contributing to Amgen's mission of serving patients with serious illnesses.

  • Participate in hands-on laboratory work focused on molecular biology and protein engineering.
  • Optimize miniaturized molecular biology protocols on high throughput robotics platforms.
  • Investigate possibilities for enzyme engineering to develop new molecular biology tools.
  • Collaborate with the Protein Engineering group and the advanced Research & Automation Technology team.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing.
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts.
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship.
  • Degree concentration(s) in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Strong basic laboratory skills and careful observational habits.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • A passion to learn and explore, with a team-oriented spirit.
  • Base pay range of $24.70 - $28.30 per hour.
