Operations Transformation and Digital Strategy (OTDS) improves business performance across Amgen Operations by scaling CI 2.0—Continuous Improvement and Artificial Intelligence. We partner with Operations to deliver sustained business improvements through execution excellence. About This Role: As an OTDS Intern, you will support strategy execution by helping stand up the operating model, creating clarity for working teams, and enabling disciplined delivery of high-impact work across the OTDS organization. You will focus on translating strategic intent into clear ways of working that deliver measurable business outcomes. This role will support execution enablement and adoption across OTDS. Focusing on codifying existing operating practices, onboarding content, and AI-enabled ways of working to accelerate impact. In this delivery-oriented role, you may design and produce practical, reusable assets that support teams’ execution transformation work across Operations.

Requirements

  • Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
  • 18 years or older
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
  • Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship or co-op

Nice To Haves

  • Degree concentration in Business Administration or Marketing or Data Science.
  • Experience with AI/basic ML concepts (AI prototyping, prompt engineering, model evaluation, and automation of workflows).
  • Understanding of project management tools and enabling strong execution.

Responsibilities

  • Operating Model Enablement Document and codify existing OTDS roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and governance into clear, consumable artifacts.
  • Develop onboarding and role-enablement materials (onboarding guides, ‘how we work’ training, execution playbooks, etc.).
  • Support standard work by refining templates, cadences, and disciplined execution practices already in use.
  • AI & Continuous Improvement Enablement Translate OTDS AI use cases into foundational guidance (e.g. how AI support CI problem-solving, decision acceleration, and project charters/options analysis/etc.)
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate onboarding process, creation of training assets, data synthesis, and standardization of OTDS materials.
  • Change and Communication Package materials into leadership-ready content, reinforcing clarity, accountability and adoption to accelerate innovation.
  • Support structured communication assets (newsletters, short-form communication campaigns, onboarding materials) that explain ‘what’s changing and how to engage.’
