Let’s change the world. The Facilities and Engineering Department at Amgen Rhode Island is seeking an Undergrad Co-op for a 10 week assignment from June – August 2026. Reporting to a Manager of Maintenance, this position is responsible for performing tasks related to Electrical system operation and maintenance activities throughout the ARI site. Specific duties include: Gain experience operating a large-scale production facility by shadowing technicians in various functions within the Facilities & Engineering department to operate, maintain, and sustain all of major electrical equipment on site. Taking part in improvement projects related to the electrical systems at ARI through supporting day-to-day operations to ensure a safe, compliant, effective, efficient, and cost appropriate utility operations at ARI. Assist Amgen Electrical group in troubleshooting and repair of equipment and systems Ensure activities are accomplished in a safe manner Assist Amgen Electrical group to ensure work order documentation is completed accurately and completely Identify opportunities to learn new skills and actively participate in development that will improve overall knowledge Collaborate with Facilities & Engineering peers within the Amgen network What We Expect of You We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. Requirements

  • Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
  • 18 years or older
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship or co-op commencing
  • Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship or co-op starts
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship or co-op

Nice To Haves

  • Completed or ongoing coursework in the following areas:
  • Mechanical engineering technology
  • Electrical engineering technology
  • Electronics/instrumentation/controls systems and automation
  • Welding technology
  • HVAC/refrigeration
  • Plumbing/pipefitting
  • Knowledge and understanding of working in a highly regulated function
  • Equipment troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems
  • Ability to understand drawings, P&ID’s and equipment schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to follow written procedures and job instructions to operate and maintain systems and equipment

Responsibilities
