Requirements

• Graduate from school of surgical technology, LPN program, RN program, or completion of a military training program that includes surgical technology skills.
• 5 years of experience in an acute care OR setting.

Nice To Haves

• CST or CORT certification.
• Currently enrolled in Surgical Technologist school or have completed a Surgical Technologist program.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures.
• Ensure that the operating room environment is safe and that equipment functions properly.
• Handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
• Gather, check, and open supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and monitor all team members at the field.
• Perform instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator as per policy.
• Participate in the surgical site and patient verification during the time out procedure.
