About The Position

The Unarmed Security Officer is responsible for providing security services at assigned locations, focusing on observing and reporting activities. This role includes conducting various types of patrols, monitoring surveillance equipment, and responding to emergency situations. The officer ensures the safety and security of premises and personnel by enforcing policies and procedures, reporting irregularities, and providing customer service to clients.

Requirements

• Valid CA guard card required.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of professional-level work experience preferred, especially in security, law enforcement, military, or customer service.
• Must possess a valid registration/permit/license required by the state.
• Ability to write effective, concise, and legible reports.
• Demonstrated customer service orientation and ability to de-escalate situations.
• Energetic and focused personality with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in scheduling, operations, or other functions of the security industry.
• Current state driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report all activity at assigned locations.
• Conduct foot, vehicular, golf cart, and/or bicycle patrols of applicable areas.
• Report suspicious activities and persons.
• Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports (DAR's).
• Enforce post orders, site rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance.
• Secure premises by patrolling property and monitoring surveillance equipment.
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points; permit entry as necessary.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies.
• Log inbound/outbound traffic and verify delivery paperwork.
• Provide direction and support to associates needing assistance with security matters.
• Monitor truck yard activity to ensure facility security and prevent unauthorized access.
• Conduct visual inspections of vehicles entering and leaving the facility.
• Identify potential safety and security risks during patrols.
• Provide customer service by carrying out safety and security procedures.
