We also have a responsibility to keep our patients, visitors, caregivers and staff safe and secure. As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will play an essential role in this mission. Here, you will be part of a team driven by a passion to protect, integrity and mutual support. A PRN caregiver in this position works days from 5:30AM – 6:00PM. An average of 24-36 hours per week will be scheduled. A minimum of two weekends per month will be required. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License (VDL) and maintain requirements for possession of a valid Florida driver's license
  • State of Florida Class D License
  • Good oral, written communication, interpersonal and analytical skills sufficient to document investigative activities
  • Ability to maintain a prominent level of confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Chauffeur license
  • Two years of experience
  • Military and/or hospital experience

Responsibilities

  • Patrol the internal/external premises while maintaining a high degree of courtesy and good judgment in dealing with the public.
  • Monitor visitor conduct, ascertain legitimacy of suspected unauthorized persons, control parking and traffic flows and enforce parking regulations.
  • Maintain high tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrate the ability to deal with diverse social, ethnic and religious groups.
  • Communicate with the public in a clear and concise manner.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of traffic, parking, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Provide physical restraint against those who endanger caregivers, patients and visitors.
  • Provide escort to personnel as appropriate.
  • Apply restraining techniques, as required, to maintain safety and order within the hospital environment.
  • Report on safety, security and/or fire hazards.
  • Recognize and make recommendations on safety violations and hazards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of fire control warning systems, evacuation routes and procedures.
  • Respond to requests for assistance from clinic personnel, patients, and visitors promptly.
