About The Position

The Unarmed Security Officer position in Silver Spring, MD, involves providing quality physical security at the client site. Officers are expected to follow prescribed Standard Operating Procedures for both basic and emergency responses, ensuring the safety and security of the premises. This role requires effective communication with security and building management to address and resolve issues, as well as the creation of detailed reports on building activity. Officers will also be responsible for patrolling the site, managing package deliveries, and controlling access to the property.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• MD Guard Card
• CPR/AED

Responsibilities

• Following prescribed Standard Operating Procedures for basic and emergency responses
• Must be able to work weekends
• Liaising with security and building management to communicate, escalate, and solve problems
• Creating detailed reports on building activity
• Cross Foot Patrolling site hourly requirement/Concierge at Front Desk
• Handling packages (in-out) for customers/clients
• Performing duties in accordance with Post Orders
• Controlling/restricting access to the property
• Signing In and out Package deliveries, scan tours
• Responding to major occurrences with intelligence, speed and accuracy
• Stationary security watch from the Security desk
• Switch off every other hour to conduct an extensive foot patrol using phone software and check points
