About The Position

The Unarmed Security Officer position at the Ashland Freestanding ED (FSED), which is set to open in December 2025, is a PRN role requiring flexibility to pick up DAY, EVENING, and NIGHT shifts. A valid Virginia driver's license is required for this position. The officer will be responsible for providing security, valet, and wayfinding services to visitors, patients, and employees, while monitoring the environment for potential hazards and reporting findings according to established procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver's license
• At least 1 year of Military, Law Enforcement, or Security experience is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Investigate and document incidents
• Respond to hospital codes
• Follow detailed instructions under stressful circumstances
• Utilize security equipment such as 2-way radios, camera monitoring systems, and pagers
• Provide escorts when needed
• Patrol all areas of campus and parking lots
• Respond to hazmat calls
• Support valet when needed
• Maintain log-book
• Attend/provide job-related training when necessary
• Provide information and assistance to hospital visitors
