About The Position

Quality Staffing, Inc., also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search, a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the area's top companies, is looking for an experienced Unarmed Security Guard to work through our agency as a contract employee with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (TN MHSAS) located in Chattanooga, TN. This is a night shift position working from 6:00 pm to 7:30 am three (3) days per week. The pay rate for this position is $19.00 per hour. Unarmed Security Guard Work Activities will include but are not limited to: Under general supervision, the employee is responsible for institutional and related security work of average difficulty and performs related work as required. May be assigned to work any shift to provide a full range of institutional and other security activities, such as protecting public buildings. Assisting in Admissions with processing patients (i.e., wanding with a metal detector, patdowns, etc.); responsible for reviewing and documenting the patient's belongings. Responding to calls and taking appropriate action to assist in emergencies; may be required to respond to Code Situations. Controlling entrance and exit of individuals by checking for identity, purpose of visit, and authorization; escorting individuals to ensure their safety. Preparing and maintaining records such as incident reports, vehicle citations, logs of visitors and others, and personal property reports. Providing information to supervisor by telephone, in written form, email, or in-person to advise of any security concerns. Communicating with law enforcement agencies to report incidents, provide information, and request assistance. Monitoring processes, materials, or surroundings; patrolling facilities, monitoring alarms and utilizing audiovisual and security systems (e.g., TV monitors) to check for security hazards, disturbances, and violations of pertinent laws, rules, or regulations. Visually monitors individuals to ensure safety and compliance with policies, rules, and regulations. Operating vehicles, mechanized devices, or equipment; operating patrol and transport vehicles to complete security patrols or transport valuables and individuals. Operating two-way radios and other communication devices to accomplish security tasks. Education and Experience Requirements for Unarmed Security Guard position: Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school; qualifying full-time law enforcement, security, or related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Other Requirements and Information: Must be local to the Chattanooga, TN area Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license Experience is preferred. The first 2-3 weeks on the job will be 8-hour shifts working Monday through Friday with the exception of week 1, which will be Monday, Thursday, and Friday working with Human Resources; the employee will then transition to working 6:00 pm to 7:30 am shifts three (3) days per week . Requirements
