The University of Miami Hospital is seeking a UMH Teacher, Full Time – VPK Program . The UMH Teacher (U) prepares lesson plans and instructs students in a classroom setting. Moreover, the incumbent evaluates and monitors students’ performance.
Provides a syllabus of course material before the start of the course.
Takes daily attendance, and conducts follow up with absences to foster retention.
Provides classroom instruction per hours agreed upon per schedule.
Administers quizzes and tests the students on course materials.
Provides weekly homework on course materials to evaluate course knowledge.
Evaluates each student’s performance using a written evaluation for a final grade
Works directly with teacher assistants on coursework and homework assignments.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred
DCF 45-hour Certification (Child Development Associate Credential or State-Approved CDA Equivalency)
BLS Certification (valid from the American Heart Association)
Minimum 2 years of experience

Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
