At BayCare, we are proud to be one of the largest employers in the Tampa Bay area. Our network consists of 16 community-based hospitals, a long-term acute care facility, home health services, outpatient centers and thousands of physicians. With the support of more than 30,000 team members, we promote a forward-thinking philosophy that's built on a foundation of trust, dignity, respect, responsibility and clinical excellence. BayCare Health System has partnered with the Ultimate Medical Academy (UMA) to offer paid training for aspiring Patient Care Technicians. Participants will begin their journey by working and training at BayCare as Nurse Helpers, supporting the organization's nursing teams under the supervision of an RN. Additionally, students will enroll in UMA's 8-week CNA training program, which fulfills the necessary requirements for BayCare's PCT positions. During the program, students are required to work one 12-hour shift per week as Nurse Helpers. They will also attend in-person classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM for six weeks, followed by a two-week externship at Morton Plant Rehab on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Upon successful completion of the UMA CNA training program, students will be promoted to full-time Patient Care Technician (PCT) positions at Morton Plant Hospital or St. Anthony's Hospital.
