About The Position

The Utilization Review Coordinator performs admission and concurrent review of patients. Assures optimum quality of patient care in the most cost-effective manner. Works closely with the Physicians and the Social Services department to ensure quality of documentation of patient care. Completes Medicare B-Tag audits.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or other related field. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in chart analysis and utilization review in the psychiatric and chemical dependency filed preferred.
Valid FL license, e.g., RN, LSCW, LMHC or LMFT preferred.
Good oral and written communication skills required to communicate in a clear and concise manner with patients, physicians, staff and administration.
Stable emotional makeup required to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities

Psychosocial assessment of newly admitted patients
Developing an update or detailed re-assessment of the patient
High-social risk case finding
Contact with family and others significant in the patient’s life
Patient and family education
Support and advocacy
Coordination/liaison with community-based social and mental health agency(ies) regarding the pre-admission status of the patient
Member of the treatment team in development of treatment planning and subsequent planned interventions.
