About The Position

Summary: Performs and assesses ultrasounds to assist in the diagnosis of disease, works effectively with patients and families, and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Associate's degree (A. S.) or equivalent in Sonography/Ultrasound from two-year college or technical school; and less than one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Must complete annual education requirements
  • Must maintain regulatory requirements
  • Eligible for ARDMS registry within three months of hire
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must meet insurance underwriting requirements

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ultrasound/sonographic examinations, including two-dimensional, Doppler, and M-mode.
  • Responsible for patient preparation, including obtaining vital signs and recording on charts.
  • Responsible for patient relations, including providing information to patient's family members.
  • Responsible for liaison communication between patients, physicians, and supervisor.
  • Responsible for clinical/technical area supplies.
  • Responsible for EKG examinations.
  • Travels to any area as needed.
  • Responsible for the inspection and maintenance of all equipment and the company vehicle.
  • Attends at least one-half of staff meetings.
  • Takes calls according to monthly schedule.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
