About The Position

Performs wide range of Ultrasound procedures on patients of varying ages, completes all associated tasks and responsibilities necessary to manage patient care needs while patient is in Department for procedures. Assists in the development and the monitoring of department specific systems and in the coordination of activities that improve the quality of patient care in the Diagnostic Imaging Services.

Requirements

One (1) year experience performing a wide variety of Ultrasound procedures under supervision of physician or registered Sonographer preferred.
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Sonography (S) / Vascular Sonography (VS) registered preferred or registry eligible. New graduates must complete registry within 6 months of hire date.
All Sonographers must be certified at required program level at time of the respective department inspection by the American College of Radiology (ACR) or at onset of accreditation renewal. Exception to this will be recent graduates.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Senior student or graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program.
Possesses critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of an Ultrasound Technologist.
Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
