Requirements

  • High School Graduate - or equivalent.
  • Require candidate be ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) registered or registry eligible

Nice To Haves

  • GI, Liver Doppler and TIPS Evaluation experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Under the general direction of the Imaging Manager, perform examinations of patients of ages 13 or above for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illness.
  • Position patients for scans using patient positioning methods and protective equipment as necessary.
  • Performs General Abdomen, Gynecological Pelvic and Small Parts ultrasound imaging procedures.
  • Take clear images. Ensure scans are being performed is consistent with the Physician's order. Must refrain from comments regarding the outcome of the exam in front of the patient unless instructed to do so by the provider.
  • Greets patients and makes them feel welcome. Demonstrates concern for patients within or outside of the organization, effectively responding to their needs and problems. Is committed to increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures commitments to customers are met.
  • Gathers appropriate clinical information. Turns over imaging room efficiently between patients to keep patient flow. Thorough and timely in communicating. Effective utilization of available resources, organizes own work, and possess effective time management skills.
  • Collaborate with Imaging Coordinators to ensure all pertinent information is well documented and accounted for.
  • Ensures patients are seen at their appointment time and must be notified if there are any delays. Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Completes and signs Patient Screening form and explains the procedure to the patient.
  • Maintains patient care, comfort, and safety during transport to and from the exam table and during the exam.
  • Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs.
  • Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures.
  • Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members.
  • Maintains a clean environment in the exam and control rooms
