About The Position

Windsong is a diagnostic radiology center of excellence focused on personalized service, world-class imaging, and compassion. The Ultrasound Technologist performs a variety of medical exams using ultrasound equipment on patients to create images of specific parts of the body, assisting physicians with medical diagnoses while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. This role specifically involves conducting images and documenting clinically appropriate results for interpretive physicians and records. This is a full-time position for the breast evening shift at the Spindrift location, working Monday-Thursday from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM with Fridays off, and rotating half-day on Saturdays.

Requirements

Knowledge of and adherence to ALARA principles

Graduate of 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology and subsequent Ultrasound technical program or Bachelor’s Degree in Ultrasound
Current certification by ARDMS in abdomen or OB/GYN required
Recent graduates are given up to 6 months to pass the SPI and ARDMS registries with a valid temporary license
Applicable State Licensure, where required
OR Graduate of 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology
Breast Certification required
12 months experience in independent scanning

Participates in activities/tasks to obtain compliance and accreditation with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical (ADRMS) and the American College of Radiology (ACR)
Participates in annual Inspections and documentation required by ACR
Demonstrates ability to collect appropriate clinical history and correlate findings with the procedure being performed
Ensures that comparison studies are obtained prior to sending the study to a radiologist for interpretation
Evaluates images for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and labels appropriately
Applies the profession’s code of ethics in all aspects of practice
Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces the safety measures in the Environment of Care
Maintains accurate patient records; including documentation of communication method, date and to whom findings were communicated
Performs general and obstetrical ultrasound exams and thyroid aspirations
Completes other tasks and projects as assigned
