Job Summary: This position is located at MD Imaging and the Ultrasound Technologist will work at both of our locations in Poughkeepsie and Wappingers Falls. Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Ultrasound Technologist will perform all required diagnostic scanning procedures to produce consistent, high-quality examinations.

ARRT(S)/ ARDMS Certification
CPR/ BLS Certification
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Work generally does not involve occupational risk; however, failure to follow established procedures and safety practices could result in minor injury, e.g., minor cuts, needle punctures, bruises from falls on slippery floors, or back injuries sustained while assisting in moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials.

Responsibilities

Prepare the exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct examinations.
Assists radiologists as needed with ultrasound-guided biopsies and vascular ultrasound procedures.
Recognize and record the appropriate anatomy and pathology using sonographic equipment.
Properly care for sonography equipment and report equipment failure.
Write reports based upon scan results and completion.
Alerts appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that need immediate attention.
Manage multiple priorities and projects and display flexibility in a fast-paced work environment.
