About The Position
Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of Universal Health Services (UHS), is excited to announce the opening of our new Foggy Bottom Clinics in October 2025, located at Cedar Hill Medical Center in Washington, DC. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of enhancing community health and wellness. About IPM: Founded in 2012, IPM is the physician services unit of UHS, specializing in developing and managing multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics. We align with UHS acute care facilities and provide select services for the Behavioral Health division. With operations in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia, our team is committed to delivering exceptional care and fostering healthy communities. Ultrasound Technologist Key Responsibilities: As a Sonographer, you will provide clinical services according to ultrasound practice standards and act as a resource to students, residents, fellows and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions. To help achieve our mission, you will administer sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies and procedures to ensure the safety of patients. Your ability to complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations is essential. Demonstrating safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines is of vital importance. Maintaining equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition is required. Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- Current BLS/CPR certification required.
- Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Familiarity with medical terminology required.
- Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (according to clinic protocol).
- General medical office procedures.
- Understanding of end of day cash balancing and charge reconciliation process (according to clinic protocol).
- Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform courteously and professionally in all interactions.

- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
