Ultrasound Technologist PRN
About The Position
Envision Imaging is adding a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to the Fort Worth, TX team! PRN (As-needed) | Position pay range: $40.75 - $52.54 Summary/Objective: Performs ultrasound procedures to adult and pediatric patients for diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Assists radiologists during specialized exams to obtain images at a satisfactory level with minimal supervision. Essential Functions 1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image. 2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc. 3. Performs ultrasound scans and prints images while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time. 4. Assists Radiologist on specialized exams. 5. Transfers images to other locations as needed. 6. Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist. 7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies. 8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns. 9. Other duties as assigned. Competencies 1. Technical Capacity. 2. Ethical Conduct. 3. Work Environment This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by and employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Job Qualifications
Requirements
- Two plus years’ experience in Ultrasound – preferred
- Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
- Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
- Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
- Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation
- Strong communication skills & professional demeanor
- Graduate of an accredited Sonography program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
Nice To Haves
- Current ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or ARRT (VS) registry – preferred
- Current ARDMS Registered Obstetrician/Gynecology Technologist (OB/GYN) or ARRT (S) registry - preferred
- Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
