About The Position

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic testing according to established departmental procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results. The Ultrasound Technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet patient care standards. This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member. This position actively participates in and supports student clinical education activities where applicable. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound technology school required.
  • LICENSE: BLS for Healthcare Providers required. ARDMS is required for Ultrasound within 1 year of hire. RVT certification is required within 18 months of passing initial ARDMS registry or date of hire if credentialed with ARDMS at time of hire.
  • EXPERIENCE: 1-year diagnostic testing experience preferred.
  • Candidates must possess ability to multitask, with attention to fine detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
  • ARDMS expires on December 31, each year and must be renewed annually to work.
