Position Highlights Work location\: Texas Health Southwest Work environment\: Radiology Ultrasound Services Work hours\: Full-Time 36 Hours - 3-12's, Friday-Sunday, 11\:30am-midnight. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care (required)
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography (required) OR ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers (required), must have 2 certifications upon hire AND Other RVT or VT(RVS) as one modality if performing vascular sonography (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of AMA approved/accredited Ultrasound Program (preferred)
  • Associate Degree (preferred)
  • 2 years clinical experience in hospital radiology setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • A Texas Health Ultrasonographer II is responsible for explaining procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam
  • imaging correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols
  • performing complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations
  • assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
  • correctly send and transfer images to PACS
  • work in tandem with staff to ensure laser images from modality or PACS are printed as needed
  • operate, care for and maintain equipment
  • prepare room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)
  • handle patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging
