This position is for our Urgency Room locations, working 12 hour shifts, 9:30a-9:30p. Week 1 & 3: Monday (Eagan), Tuesday (Golden Valley) Week 2 & 4: Sunday (Golden Valley), Monday (Eagan), Tuesday (Golden Valley) JOB TITLE: Imaging Technologist - Ultrasound LOCATION OR DEPARTMENT: Clinic EXEMPT STATUS/GRADE: Non-Exempt/Step Scale REPORTS TO: Clinic Manager, Supervisor or Lead Technologist SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None. SUMMARY OF POSITION: Perform General, OB/GYN and Vascular ultrasound exams and procedures according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform all ultrasound exams and procedures according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care in a timely manner. Obtain patient history, answer questions, and provide the patient with information about the exam and/or procedure so they are comfortable and thoroughly understand it. Work with the radiologists, referring clinics and/or patients to ensure the appropriate exams, films and medical records are correct and prepared for the exam. Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete for the radiologist, referring clinic and the patient’s medical records. Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, training new employees, stocking and/or ordering department supplies and assisting in other departments. DAILY PHYSICAL DEMANDS REQUIRED FOR PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Requires a moderate amount of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, gripping, twisting, turning and repetitive motion; some bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, telephone and other office equipment. Ability to assist patients to walk, sit, stand and move to and from the exam table, wheelchair and/or Hoyer lift. Environmental/working conditions: High-Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood products, bodily fluids and/or hazardous materials common to a radiology setting. Low-Potential exposure to ionizing radiation exams rooms and/or involved in the use of ionizing radiation common to a radiology setting.
