About The Position

The ultrasound technologist is responsible for directing non-ionizing, high frequency waves into areas of the patient’s body.  The ultrasound technologist must demonstrate knowledge for interpretation of exams and ability to convey results to Radiologists and/or physicians.  Ultrasound is a very operator dependent modality.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved (ARRT) school of Radiologic Technology and/or a Certified school of Ultrasound
  • ARRT Registration required and/or Registered Medical Sonographer (RDMS) Certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Ultrasound experience
  • OB/GYN, abdominal, and vascular certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Identify, record, adapt procedures as appropriate
  • Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations
  • Use independent judgment during the ultrasound to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information
  • Communicate findings through ultrasound worksheet
  • Proper ultrasound probe disinfecting
  • Responsible for the control of inventory
  • Assume responsibility for assigned area and report malfunctions as applicable
