Position Purpose: Performs ultrasonography procedures including vascular and general sonography for patients as ordered by the physician and provides diagnostic exams and communications for radiologist’s interpretation. Adheres to MercyOne performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne. What you will Do: Prepares patient, room and equipment for procedure. Collects history data from patient and provides patient education. Provides patient cares in accordance with department policy. Performs ultrasound procedure. Provides radiologist pertinent information for interpretation. Performs sonograms and documents and communicates findings to radiologist. Performs doppler/color flow diagnostic studies and is able to accurately measure velocities and frequency shifts. Adheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures. Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit, which may include: Birth-28 days: Neonate 1-18 Months: Infant 18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler 3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged 6-12 Yrs: School-Aged 12-18 Yrs: Adolescents 18-65 Yrs: Adults 65+ Yrs: Geriatrics
