About The Position

We are seeking a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist , sometimes referred to as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) , Ultrasound Technologist RVT or Vascular Technologist . Vascular Technologist’s will specialize in performing and interpreting vascular ultrasounds. In our hospital this is critical for diagnosing and monitoring conditions related to the blood vessels and circulatory system. You will provide a crucial bridge between technology and patient care, helping detect life-threatening vascular conditions and improving overall treatment outcomes. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed. Requirements

  • RVT(ARDMS), RVS (CCI) or VS (ARRT) certification required within 90 days of hire and maintain.
  • Graduate an accredited vascular ultrasound program or current certification as identified in #1 and graduation within 90 days of hire.
  • Current experience preferred.
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Use specialized vascular ultrasound equipment to evaluate blood flow, veins, and arteries
  • Conduct procedures including abdominal vascular studies, lower extremity (L.E.) and upper extremity (U.E.) evaluations, venous Doppler exams, doppler ultrasounds, carotid assessments, and imaging for renal, pancreas, and liver transplants, as well as the Nielsen Cold Challenge and other specialized studies
  • Perform other exams such as venous reflux studies, arterial duplex scanning, carotid duplex scanning, and transcranial Doppler (TCD) ultrasound
  • Provide rapid imaging for acute conditions such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or suspected arterial blockages
  • Assess for conditions such as blood clots, blockages, aneurysms, or arterial diseases
  • Work closely with vascular surgeons, cardiologists, and other specialists to provide diagnostic insights
