About The Position

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations. This role involves ensuring proper workflow, maintaining positive relationships with Radiologists and sonographers, and assisting in the day-to-day operations of the department. The technologist is responsible for screening requisitions, documenting ultrasound exams, and training fellow sonographers and students in complex techniques. The position requires knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan to provide appropriate care to patients of all ages.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound School.
• ARDMS Certification required.
• Must be CPR certified.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum three years experience in a hospital setting performing Abdomen, OB/GYN, Small Parts, Thyroid, Vascular, Pediatric, Biopsies and Interventional Procedures.
• RVT certification.

Responsibilities

• Screen requisitions to ensure proper exams are being ordered and proper prep is called to the Nurse taking care of the patient.
• Ensure proper work flow is being maintained.
• Maintain positive relationship between Radiologist and sonographers.
• Assist Lead Technologist and Supervisor in the day to day operation.
• Primary person ensuring proper steps are taken in the documentation process of ultrasound exams (tracking/dictation of exam in timely manner).
• Initiate service calls and documents.
• Train fellow sonographers and students with complex and/or new techniques.
