The perfect candidate will be responsible for all areas of ultrasound; exercises professional judgment in performance of services by maintaining a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics; provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate department operations through completion of all associates paperwork
  • Maintain adequate supply stock in all related areas; notify appropriate personnel of the need to reorder supplies and assist with the distribution of supplies
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment
  • Participate in a timely and equitable work distribution
  • Assist all personnel in answering phones, scheduling amniocenteses, faxing/mailing reports to physicians’ offices and other clerical duties
  • Participate in health fairs, marketing events, etc.
  • Verify all exam orders and necessary forms/consents to be signed prior to initiation of exams
  • Perform ultrasound studies of acceptable technical quality to include Ob/Gyn and abdominal/small parts, and 2D & 3D Mammography
  • Ensure patient safety in performance of position responsibility
  • Provide assistance and maintain patient flow which includes check in, dressing patients and discharging patients
  • Responsible for film and other supplies; maintain laser printer
  • Possess current knowledge of the ultrasound procedures performed in the department
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide ultrasound services to patients served in relation to growth and development over the lifespan
  • Follow through with routers, coding and charging the patients with completed paperwork
  • Demonstrate ability to follow established infection control protocols
  • Actively participate in group meetings and perform improvement activities

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program
  • Currently registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
  • Current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (RDMS)
  • Current Texas Department of Health License
  • High School Diploma
