About The Position

Performs ultrasound studies according to established protocols or physicians’ special instructions. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Performs studies accurately and efficiently in an effort to meet established turn-around times. Prepares reports for physician interpretation and ensures quality images are available for interpreting physician. Provides age appropriate care, anticipates patient/family needs, comfort and safety and assists with exceeding customer expectations. Experience performing abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, pediatric, small parts and vascular studies Participates with patient transportation. Assists with regulatory/accrediting agencies to insure departmental compliance. Performs department surveys and quality control on equipment and reports variances for service. Responds to on-call coverage in a professional manner and available in 1 hour. Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values. Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI). Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public. Requirements

Associates degree from a two-year college or technical school in Ultrasound or higher
Must be a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
Must be a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), (VS) Vascular Sonography
Must be credentialed in Abdomen (AB) and OB/GYN.
Current BLS card within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first. Acceptable courses are American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
Thorough knowledge of Ultrasound diagnostic techniques, treatment and education.
Strong skills in using software such as Excel, Word, EMR Systems, etc.
Medical terminology.
Superb organization skills, follow-through and attention to detail
Light Work: Occasionally exerting up to 25 lbs - frequently exerting up to 10 lbs. 11-25% of the day may be standing or walking.
