About The Position

Prepares patients for procedures, assumes responsibility for patient needs during procedures. Performs procedures with accuracy and thoroughness in a timely manner, adhering to the protocols outlined in the department's procedure manual upon the order of a licensed independent practitioner for diagnostic interpretation by a radiologist. Requirements

  • Completion of Sonography Program Preferred
  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association – Required
  • Currently credentialed with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, with a current RDMS license with subspecialty registries in Abdomen and OB/GYN, and current RVT license
  • BR Breast Certification - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Required at sites that perform Diagnostic Mammography, if performing diagnostic breast ultrasound – Must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • OB/GYN - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • RVT Registered Vascular Technologist - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Must be btained within 90 days of hire, with the exception of new graduates, who must obtain their RVT license within 14 months
  • If the technologist is unable to comply in acquiring their missing sub-specialty license due to extenuating circumstances, one 90-day extension can be granted only at the discretion of the Medical Imaging Director

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years Medical Imaging - Sonographer Preferred
  • RVT highly preferred before hire
  • 3+ years of experience as a registered sonographer preferred
  • Strong weekend availability and ability to help with call when needed
  • Ability to help with night shift, PMs and AMs.
