The Ultrasound Technologist performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician, ensuring the delivery of care and services. This role involves maintaining appropriate supplies and a clean and orderly work area, as well as notifying the supervisor of needed items. The technologist is responsible for maintaining equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity, and providing age-appropriate care to all patients. Additionally, the technologist acts as a consultant and educational resource for physicians and staff regarding the appropriateness and accuracy of scans. The position requires providing quality ultrasound studies, including abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvis, breast, and testicular small parts, for use by the radiologist in diagnosing patient illnesses. The technologist also maintains appropriate files, supplies, and equipment.
