About The Position

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer uses Ultrasound to locate, evaluate and record pertinent anatomical, pathological and functional data to aid the physician in the diagnosis of disease and/or injury while maintaining the highest standard of patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate, Satisfactory completion of approved medical sonography program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in one discipline including Abdomen, OB/GYN, Small Parts, Breast or RVT or registry eligible with 12 months to become registered.
  • BLS required

Responsibilities

  • Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
  • Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
  • Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Analyses sonograms synthesizes sonographic information and medical history and communicates findings to the appropriate physician
  • Coordinates work schedule with Departmental Director and/or scheduling team to assure workload coverage.
