About the position

As an Ultrasound Technician / Sonographer you will operate an ultrasound machine to produce diagnostic sonograms. You will perform invasive procedures directed by the guidance of Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians in accordance with established standards and practices. This position will require you to float between our West Pembroke Pines, Plantation and West Miramar locations. Per Diem - Monday-Friday, no weekends, nights or holidays!

Responsibilities

  • Obtains clear, complete images and accurate measurements as required for all ultrasound studies
  • Completes timely and accurate documentation
  • Presents findings to the supervising physician
  • Assist physicians in minor procedures and other capabilities as required
  • Maintains patient privacy at all times
  • Maintains appropriate demeanor and professional communication with patients throughout the ultrasound exam
  • Orients, trains, mentors, and precepts new employees and students
  • Maintains clinical procedure reference guides and ensures all procedures are followed with regard to ultrasound service standards
  • Answers questions and serves as a resource for Ultrasound Technicians and staff
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and is regarded by physicians and colleagues as a team lead
  • Serves as a first point of contact for questions related to the specialty of sonography
  • Stays current with trends in ultrasound care and provides in-services as needed to physicians and staff to communicate most current standards of care
  • Serves as ultrasound tech leader in preparation for AIUM accreditation and gathers information to submit in a complete and timely manner to the physician or manager
  • Coordinates equipment and reporting system service, maintenance, and upgrades while providing recommendations to managers during system upgrades
  • Coordinates training for system upgrades

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • RDMS certification is required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Experience with ultrasound reporting system required
  • Experience with EHR preferred
