Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience as a sonographer at an acute care facility preferred
  • Diploma from a certified school of ultrasound or equivalent preferred
  • ARDMS required
  • RVT (registered vascular technologist) strongly preferred
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification required

Responsibilities

  • Thorough knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
  • Ability to perform general & vascular exams (arterial, carotids, etc.)
  • Ability to follow physician’s orders
  • Ability to pull related exams for doctor viewing
  • Must be able to perform sonography studies in an operating room setting
  • Performs 'Time Out' on all procedures, ensures universal protocols are completed on all patients by utilizing 'two identifiers' per TJC NPSG standard
  • Verbalizes and demonstrates, in clinical practice, HIPAA compliance and all safety practices as supported by organizational policy and procedure
