About The Position

Position Summary : Under the direction of the Chief Technologist/Medical Director of Radiology performs all ultrasound examinations as ordered by the patient's attending physician. Develops and prepares film for interpretation, maintains supplies and equipment. Performs other related duties.

Requirements

• High School graduate.
• Two (2) year Ultrasound School at Community College level.
• Current ARDMS (Abd, OB & Breast, RVT)required.
• Current BLS Certification
• Excellent Customer Service Skills in order to project a positive image of the department and hospital.
• Must have a good working knowledge of anatomy, understand principles of physics, electricity, and methods of exposure to obtain clearly defined Images.
• Must be able to set up and operate all types of equipment that will be used in a modern ultrasound department.
• Must know how to process radiology images in a PACS enviroment.
• Should have sufficient knowledge of psychology, patient care, and sterile technique to deal with all types of conditions of patients.
• Two (2) year experience as a sonographer.
