Under general supervision of the Imaging Manager, the Ultrasonographer prepares equipment and patients for Ultrasound procedures, safely and accurately performs Ultrasounds as ordered and directed according to established practices and procedures. Maintains safe environment to deliver highest quality patient care and accurate imaging. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Every effort has been made to make this job description as complete as possible. Safely performs all ultrasound procedures in accordance with established procedures. Position and transfer patients appropriately. Provide immobilization devices as required. Select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis. Select and operate all equipment as directed. Move images to PACS. Provide protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Assist physicians in administering accepted contrast media. Practice sterile technique and prevent cross contamination. Attends in-services and meetings as required. Maintains patient confidentiality and appropriate handling of PHI. Abides by the HMH Legal Compliance Code of Conduct. Maintains a safe work environment and reports safety concerns appropriately Perform all other related functions as directed.
