The Ultrasound Tech performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to include calibration and operation of ultrasound equipment and coordination of patient care activities with other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED Required
Vocational/Technical Diploma, graduate of an accredited ultrasound program required
2 years Diagnostic ultrasound sonographer required
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technology Sonography Certification – ARRT (S) Upon Hire Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) Basic Life Support Certification needs to be the AHA Healthcare Provider type only Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

Schedules and performs ultrasound procedures by performing proper diagnostic scan recognition; maintains quality assurance/improvement standards of procedures.
Correlates ultrasound procedures with patient medical history.
Maintains patient records and completes patient discharges.
Cleans and maintains equipment; ensures stock of supplies by placing orders.
