About The Position

The Ultrasound Technologist performs duties under the direction of the Radiologist, Technical Director, and Lead/Chief Technologist. May perform other job-related duties as necessary for the efficient operation of SDMI.

Requirements

A graduate from an accredited ultrasound school or sufficient job experience.
Any employee who discovers, is directly involved in or is responding to an event/occurrence/risk is required to complete or direct the completion of an occurrence report within 24 hours of event/occurrence/risk.
My job performance, including current competencies, will be reviewed by my supervisor on a periodic basis. If my job performance/ current competencies are not (or continue to not be) at required level this could result in additional training and/or disciplinary action.
ARDMS certification eligible plus additional specialty test preferred. Must meet ACR certification requirements to have at least one of the following certifications: ARDMS, AB, OB/GYN, PS or RVT.

Responsibilities

Performance of routine ultrasound exams.
Maintains policies and protocols for Ultrasound department.
Responsible for overseeing the function of all Ultrasound departments.
Responsible for all Quality Assurance ultrasound exams.
Completing patient paperwork.
Aide in the clinical experience and teaching of Ultrasound students.
Immediately report any machine malfunction or repairs to Chief, Lead and/or the appropriate service engineers.
Follow appropriate ACR protocols and guidelines for all ultrasound exams.
Communicating with the radiologists and staff about in-departmental and patient exams.
Utilizing advanced knowledge in a clinical setting of ultrasound physics and instrumentation as applicable to the setting.
Other duties as assigned.
