A Little More About What You Will be Doing The Ultrasound Tech performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to include calibration and operation of ultrasound equipment and coordination of patient care activities with other healthcare professionals. Schedules and performs ultrasound procedures by performing proper diagnostic scan recognition; maintains quality assurance/improvement standards of ultrasound procedures Correlates ultrasound procedures with patient medical history Cleans and maintains equipment; ensures adequate stock of supplies by placing orders

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required
  • Vocational/Technical Diploma, graduate of an accredited ultrasound program required
  • 2 years Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonographer experience is required.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technology Sonography Certification – ARRT (S) required
  • BLS from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross required

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to include calibration and operation of ultrasound equipment and coordination of patient care activities with other healthcare professionals.
