Get to Know Your Team: Bailey Medical Center offers a full range of medical services, including general surgery, maternity, gynecology, bariatrics, orthopedics and emergency care. The 73-bed hospital is one of the most technologically advanced hospitals in the region. This position is accountable for operating the ultrasound scanners, transportation of patients, answering questions related to reports of exams. The incumbent helps clean rooms and equipment and order supplies, assist physicians with invasive procedures and administer basic C.P.R. Must be RDMS or RDMS registry eligible. The incumbent must be able to maintain a high standard of imaging. A thorough knowledge of ultrasound physics, anatomy and positioning are essential for a quality exam. Must be able to handle multiple demands simultaneously and keep a helpful attitude. Must be able to coordinate patient prepping and scanning to maximize smooth patient flow. Must be available for 24-hour call back with a 1-hour response time. Will participate in performance improvement initiatives. Will assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day-to-day operation of the department. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his or her assigned area.

Requirements

  • Vocational/Technical education.
  • Appropriate ARDMS certification or RDMS Registry eligible (within one year of hire).
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Must be available for 24-hour call back with a 1-hour response time.
  • A thorough knowledge of ultrasound physics, anatomy and positioning are essential for a quality exam.
  • Must be able to handle multiple demands simultaneously and keep a helpful attitude.
