Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
  • ARDMS certification required : RDMS (Abdoemn or OB/GYN) required
  • Ability to perform general and vascular ultrasound studies independently as assigned.
  • Maintain continuing education as required by ARDMS
  • One (1–2) years of experience in general ultrasound

Nice To Haves

  • Vascular experience or trianing preferred
  • Experience performing basic or limited vascular studies
  • Additional ARDMS specialty credentials (AB, OB/GYN, or VT).

Responsibilities

  • Perform general diagnostic ultrasound examinations , including abdomen, small parts, soft tissue, and vascular studies
  • Operate ultrasound equipment at a technical level to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Recognize normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology.
  • Independently manage patient workflow, including patient preparation, positioning, and post-exam care.
  • Monitor and identify patient care needs and respond appropriately during examinations.
  • Provide patient education appropriate to the exam and patient understanding.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with physicians and clinical staff.
  • Complete examinations and documentation in a timely manner, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Generate preliminary reports or technical impressions as appropriate per department protocol.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and professional presence at work.
