Performs a variety of duties in preparing patients for sonograms in order to furnish diagnostic information. Operates ultrasound equipment, prepares patients for scans explains procedures, obtains extensive clinical history, coordinates the activities of the ultrasound area and assists patients at the end of the procedures. Always recognizes individual sonography needs for newborns, pediatric patients, adolescent patients, adult patients and older geriatric patients as it pertains to imaging procedures.
