About The Position

The Ultrasound Technologist at HonorHealth plays a crucial role in providing diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound procedures under the direction of a radiologist. This position requires independent judgment and initiative, ensuring patient safety and comfort while performing various ultrasound techniques. The technologist will also assist in coordinating daily workflow and maintaining equipment, contributing to a high-quality care experience for patients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• More than 10 months of clinical ultrasound experience required.
• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) eligible, including passing the SPI exam.
• Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification at the time of hire required.
• RDMS or RVT credentialed, including passing one of the following exams: Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatric Sonography, or Vascular Technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the direction of a radiologist.
• Select proper technical factors for individual patients and observe them during procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
• Transport patients to and from exam rooms and prepare the examination area.
• Acquire digital images and evaluate them for technical quality.
• Assist physicians in diagnostic procedures and with administering medications.
• Coordinate daily workflow for the department's activities.
• Maintain equipment in efficient operating order and perform required quality control testing.
• Contact service for repair and maintenance of equipment as needed.
• Participate in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Manage stock and inventory as assigned.
