The Ultrasound Technologist at Baylor Scott & White Health is responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound procedures in both ambulatory and hospital settings. This role involves working under the supervision of a Radiologist or physician to assist in the diagnosis of diseases and injuries, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards.

  • Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.
  • Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients to ensure correct exams are performed and establish rapport.
  • Instruct and communicate with patients and their families regarding the tests to be performed.
  • Prepare patients and the area for procedures by positioning patients and adjusting equipment controls.
  • Adhere to safety requirements, infection-control, and drug and radiation policies.
  • Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation such as patient history and consent forms.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and workflows related to medical imaging records.
  • Maintain medical imaging records in accordance with department policies.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certification in ARRT-BS Breast Sonography, ARRT-S Sonography, or equivalent certifications from recognized bodies.
  • Ability to explain procedures and put patients at ease.
  • Experience in training new team members.
  • Ability to perform tasks independently without routine oversight.
