About The Position

The position involves performing basic diagnostic ultrasound examinations as prescribed by physicians and documenting findings. The role includes assisting physicians with invasive procedures as needed and providing appropriate patient care while recognizing patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedures. The ultrasound technologist will obtain comprehensive patient histories, operate ultrasound equipment competently, and ensure quality diagnostic studies that meet established protocols. The position requires maintaining a clean work environment, stocking rooms with supplies, and notifying management of any equipment malfunctions. The technologist will also support objectives set by lead ultrasonographers and assist in credentialing and competencies as required by regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Required Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in ultrasound required.
  • CRT-Sonographer (S) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist upon hire required.
  • CRT-Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire required.
  • CRT-Ob/Gyn (OB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire required.
  • CRT-Vascular Technologist (VT) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire required.
  • CRT-Vascular Sonographer (VS) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist upon hire required.
  • CRT-Breast (BR) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire required.
  • CRT-Breast Sonographer (BS) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist upon hire required.
  • CRT-Pediatric Sonographer (PS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
  • CRT-Musculoskeletal (MSK) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association within 90 days required.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross within 90 days required.

Nice To Haves

  • CRT-Pediatric Sonographer (PS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
  • CRT-Musculoskeletal (MSK) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain a complete and comprehensive patient history.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment competently to provide quality diagnostic studies.
  • Perform various diagnostic ultrasound examinations as prescribed by the referring physician and/or radiologists.
  • Document quality images, including pathology noted during real-time scanning.
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and stock rooms with supplies.
  • Contact service personnel and notify management of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Support objectives set by lead ultrasonographer, imaging specialist, supervisor, and/or manager.
  • Assist imaging specialist/manager in credentialing and competencies.
  • Serve as a technical specialist/trainer and mentor to less experienced staff.
