About The Position
Mercy Health is seeking an Ultrasound Tech who operates complex equipment to produce high quality sonograms. This individual collaborates with the physician, the manager, and the staff in developing, implementing, and evaluating department procedures and protocols. The position involves direct patient care, access to confidential patient information, and making decisions independently and in collaboration with the physician, manager, and staff. The Ultrasound Tech works under the indirect supervision of the physician, demonstrating knowledge of direct patient care and performing routine diagnostic sonograms and assessments in accordance with organizational policies, radiation performance standards, and standards of practice. Responsibilities include accurately performing data collection such as standard vital signs in a timely manner for all patients requiring care, assisting the physician with exams as required, and performing sonographic procedures under the supervision of the provider. The role also includes clerical duties such as filing, computer data entry, registration, and documentation of charges.
