About The Position

The U/S Tech, Multi - Hosp position at Beavercreek Medical Imaging involves independently performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-directed interventional procedures. The role requires adherence to proper techniques and protocols while working under the scope of practice and in accordance with registry in the operation of equipment. The U/S Tech coordinates patient flow and the activities of the Ultrasound Department, exercising professional judgment to maintain equipment in good working condition. The position may also involve performing procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Allied Health with a major in Ultrasonography.
  • Minimum of two registries in practiced specialties as approved by ARDMS: Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular Technology, Echo, muscular skeletal, Neurosonology, Breast.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Active member of ARDMS.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred educational qualifications: Associate degree or graduate of an accredited program.
  • Preferred experience: 2 years of experience in Ultrasound.

Responsibilities

  • Performs US procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates Ultrasound studies for technical image quality.
  • Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the US procedure.
  • Performs daily and weekly QC as required.
  • Practices sterile technique as required.
  • Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
  • Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction.
  • Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs.
  • Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, performs clerical duties when necessary, verifies a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure.
  • Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
  • Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.
